Not possible to cut certain corners 

Both the trail and the weather conditions can be erratic. When you buy a dirt bike, you cannot cut a few corners, and safety is one of those corners. It is always wise to tell somebody your movement plans and your standard return time. Cell reception on the trail can be patchy, so you cannot inform when riding.
